Nevada is seeing the worst drought in 60 years combined with record temperatures that increases the possibility of wildland fires. Those who live in and around the public lands need be extra careful and lessen the possibility of losing your home by clearing 30 feet around your residences, “reduce the fuel, reduce the risk.” Go to the Firewise link at www.firewise.org for further information on preparing your home and property against wildland fire.
This will be the last fire update for the Bison Fire. Mike Whalen’s Type 2 Incident Command Team 3 would like to thank the communities of Gardnerville and Minden for their support and hospitality.
